Experience

Rosalía started her career working in Madrid for a top Spanish law firm specialising in IP matters, where she acquired in-depth knowledge on litigation. In 1998, she moved to Alicante and worked for two reputed IP agencies as manager and head of department. In 2005, Rosalía established her own IP firm Ballester i Asociados, now called Ballester IP after a change of name in 2012.

By the end of 2012, Rosalía founded Interty, an association aiming at promoting cooperation amongst its members through the exchange of IP information. Nowadays, Interty has a wide network of members from all continents and continues to grow every year.

Throughout her career, Rosalía has closely worked with clients all over the world from different industries such as retail, toys, furniture, food or cosmetics. She regularly attends the main conferences such as INTA, MARQUES ASIPI, LES, ECTA, PTMG, AIPPI, APAA or CTF to stay updated on the latest IP trends.

She actively collaborates in several INTA subcommittees, and has also held master classes for the Magister Lvcentinvs of the University of Alicante and the Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property of the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid. She is currently acting as secretary for the IP Networking Committee for LES Spain-Portugal and represents ASIPI before EUIPO.

Her professional efforts and her firm’s have been recognised many times by WTR, IAM Patent and IP Stars, among others.

Experience

With over a decade of experience in the field of intellectual property, Lucas joined Ballester IP in 2018 after building his career at other law firms, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the Legal Department of the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) in France.

As a specialized IP attorney, Lucas has become a key figure within the firm in negotiation, complex litigation, and strategic advice for the protection and valuation of intangible assets. His approach combines rigorous legal insight with a deep understanding of the business landscape, enabling him to design effective strategies for both rights enforcement and conflict management. Lucas advises national and international clients in administrative and contentious proceedings, as well as in high-level negotiations involving trademarks, patents, and designs.

Since 2018, he has actively contributed to INTA committees and regularly speaks at forums, seminars, and conferences focused on intellectual property. He also acts as co-chair of the Valuation and Strategy Committee of LES Spain-Portugal.

His professional work has been recognized by prestigious international publications such as IP Stars and World Trademark Review (WTR).

After completing her Master’s in Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation at the University of Alicante, María joined Ballester IP in 2023, where she began developing her professional career in the field of Industrial and Intellectual Property. During her postgraduate studies, she was awarded the Special Prize at the 1st Moot Court organized by the National Council of Law Students, a distinction that reflects her academic excellence and litigation skills.

María has specialized experience in trademark law, actively participating in administrative procedures related to the handling and defense of trademark portfolios, as well as providing strategic legal advice to both national and international clients. Her work also includes negotiation and conflict resolution in matters of Industrial Property, offering a rigorous and results-oriented approach to achieve positive and efficient outcomes for our clients.

Alongside her work at Ballester IP, María successfully completed the Master’s in Legal Practice, Advocacy, and Legal Procedures, earning her law degree and becoming a member of the Alicante Bar Association.

His work includes trademark prosecution and enforcement, conducting infringement searches, gathering evidence of reputation, drafting evidence of use, drafting grounds for opposition, as well as handling invalidity and revocation proceedings.
